Kids 2-4yo ASD Group

The group meets weekly during the school term with breaks over the school holidays. The sessions are held at TLC Music Therapy from

10.30am – 11.15am on Tuesdays. TLC Music Therapy is located at 158 Colby Drive, Belgrave South.

The group is facilitated by Jacinta Calabro, a registered music therapist who has extensive experience in early childhood music therapy.

The group aims to promote social communication skills, emotional regulation, and kinder/school readiness. We’ll be addressing a whole range of goal areas including:

• Social skills

• Engagement

• Tolerance and accommodation of others

• Play skills

• Making friends

• Increase multi-sensory tolerance

• Choice-making

• Rhythmic and melodic entrainment

• Attention and concentration

• Functional play skills

• Basic numeracy and literacy skills

• Fine and gross motor skills

In the group we’ll be rehearsing these skills through live singing, instrument playing, action songs, games, dancing, sensory props, stories, and puppets.

Parents are required to attend the group with your child. Parents will be modelling active participation, safety, and fun for the children.

The cost of the groups is our hourly rate of $190ph divided between the group participants. There will also be a small fee for documentation & planning. At the start of each term the fee will be set depending on the number of enrolments. Participants will need to commit to the group for a term at a time and fees will be charged at the end of the term. Please note that absences won’t be refunded.

The group will start from Tuesday 31st January though participants are welcome to join at any time.
